Int'l Dance Day Contest

Int'l Dance Day Contest

Animation Course

International Dance Day is celebrated annually on April 29th to promote the art of dance as a universal language of expression, creativity, and cultural heritage. Established in 1982 by the International Theatre Institute (ITI), a partner of UNESCO, this day honors dance in all its forms, from classical ballet and contemporary styles to traditional folk dances and street performances.

The date was chosen to commemorate the birthday of Jean-Georges Noverre, a French dancer and choreographer considered the founder of modern ballet. International Dance Day aims to encourage participation in dance, celebrate its ability to unite people across cultures, and highlight its importance in education and social development. Around the world, dancers, choreographers, and institutions organize performances, workshops, and festivals to showcase the beauty and diversity of dance.
